Battle Days Sept. 23-24, 2006

Once again B.A.T. was privileged to use the field in front of the Military Vehicle Technology Foundation museum complex for our two-day event. Joe was our excellent guide and mentor, giving us a ~3.5 hour tour of all four buildings on Saturday after we setup the battle field.

This years battle days was very low keyed, with just a few out of state visitors. The 1/16 diorama was laid out on the newly resurfaced battle field with buildings placed strategically to provide a more balanced arena. We had casual combat Saturday afternoon and then got down to serious battle strategy on Sunday, having many heats and all in all a very good time.

The battle field surface provided us with much more maintenance than usual do to the use of crushed granite used for berms and road beds. The granite would work it's way into the track causing many jams... Next year we hope to have a much kinder track friendly high performance clay surface like that use on dirt track raceways.
