Battle Day 1997 |

|
In 1997, B.A.T.’s enthusiasm for the battle field concept was evident in the appearance of more diorama items and participants. The venue for this event was a sand volleyball court at a Marine base in Hayward, California. We again played a "capture the flag" type of game. In the photo below, you can notice Rich’s King Tiger firing cornstarch from a reservoir in its turret. Rich powered the cannon with a CO2 air line. There were many 1/10th models from Jerry Carducci and 1/8th models, including models from Mike Deiter of R/C Armory, www.rcarmory.com.
This was the year B.A.T. began combining a regular Sunday excursion to Jacques Littlefield’s armored fighting vehicle collection following Saturdays model activities.
Littlefield’s collection is one of the largest private collection of combat vehicles in the world.
